The worst horror films in the history of the genre

When it comes to choosing movies to watch on your movie nights, do you find that you are running out of ideas? No need to be anxious any longer, as a change in course is just around the corner here. How about a rundown of some scary movies to get the party started? On the other hand, there is a catch to it. You see, we would really enjoy a conversation about what customers buy, but you most likely went through those questions during the first few weeks of the lockdown. As a result, we scoured the internet in order to compile a list of the very worst classic horror films that have ever been produced.

To get to the bottom of this one, you crazy folks are going to have to scrape the bottom of the pot. Here is a collection of terrible films that have received a minimum of 20 reviews and have the lowest Tomatometer scores of all time. These films are now rising from their graves and shambling their way into our guide to the worst horror movies that have ever been made.

On the Tomatometer, none of the films included here had a score better than 9%. It should come as no surprise that a disproportionately high percentage of the films on this list are remakes. Some of the worst offenders on this front are The Fog, Jacob's Ladder, Flatliners, and Martyrs. The same can be said for the sequels, which feature cameos from the likes of Jason, Jaws, the living dead, and an American werewolf. And then there are movies that will never even receive a glimmer of a chance for a sequel, like Sandra Bullock's Premonition, the stinker that Daniel Craig starred in called Dream House, or the unsettling and appropriately titled film called The Disappointments Room.

The absolute worst and most poorly rated horror films of all time have nothing but problems in store for its audiences.

There are a great number of classic horror movies that are cherished not for their chill-inducing stories or their realistic gore, but rather for the campy enjoyment that they bring. And then there are some that simply don't hit the mark in such a stunning way that it's more likely that they'll leave an audience in fits of laughter than it is that they'll provoke genuine fear in them. According to the findings of Rotten Tomatoes, which compiles and analyses evaluations from film critics, there is one scary movie that is so absurd that it very well could be the worst horror movie in the history of the genre.
